🔶 Activity Description

On Saturday, June 20, we invite you to join us for a unique night hike with your dog on Poikilo Oros, one of the most popular dog friendly outdoor activities in Athens. As part of our Trekking With Your Dog project, humans and dogs alike will enjoy a beautiful summer walk in nature, as the temperature drops and the city lights begin to illuminate the landscape below.

The route is easy and suitable for most dogs and their owners, leading us to the summit of Zacharitsa Peak on Poikilo Oros in Petroupoli. As the lights of Athens spread across the horizon, we experience a different side of hiking, perfect for warm summer evenings.

Hiking with your dog is a wonderful way to provide exercise, mental stimulation and socialization while strengthening the bond between dog and owner. Through this shared outdoor experience, our four-legged companions explore new environments while participants enjoy a professionally organized activity in a beautiful natural setting.

Joining us throughout the activity will be dog trainer Petros Sidereas (CityZen Dogs), available to provide guidance and answer questions related to dog behavior, training and everyday life with our canine companions.

Through the collaboration between Wanderlust Outdoor Activities & Travel and a professional dog trainer, this project is delivered with organization, safety and respect for both people and dogs.

Participants without a dog are also welcome.

🔶 Social Initiative

We offer 2 complimentary places for shelter dogs so they can also enjoy a hiking experience in nature. Volunteers from animal welfare organizations are welcome to contact us for participation.

🔶 Participation Guidelines

• Α headlamp is required for participation. 
• Flexi leads and choke collars are not permitted
• It is recommended that dogs do not eat 6 to 8 hours before the hike
• Please bring treats, water, a bowl, your dog's favorite toy and waste bags
• An up to date electronic health record is required
• Dogs must be over 6 months old and free from orthopedic issues
